Bunessan Sheet Music and Guitar Tab

Did you know the popular song, Morning Has Broken by Michael Card, and performed by Cat Stevens in the early 70's, was originally based on the Gaelic melody, Bunessan, by Scottish composer, Mary MacDonald? The lyrics for this wonderful melody, titled Leanabh an Aigh, were written in Gaelic. When the melody was translated into English by Lachlan Macbean, the title for the song was renamed to be Bunessan, after a Scottish village close to Mary MacDonald’s hometown of Ardtun. Also, the song was originally associated with the Christmas carol, Away in the Manger.
